Nurs-e
In the world of home nursing, innovation is essential. The pressure on care keeps growing and the need to work more efficiently is greater than ever. The Nurs-e project – “for and by nurses” – strives for a more efficient and more user-friendly electronic patient record (EPR).
Wit-Gele Kruis West-Flanders and Antwerp jointly developed a system that fits seamlessly into the daily needs of nurses.
The role of Itenium
Within this broad project team of more than sixty people, Itenium provided targeted support with around six consultants. Their contribution lay mainly in:
Care and Technology
The development of the EPR was characterised by close collaboration between care professionals and technical experts. Nurses were actively involved from the start through working groups, user tests and steering committees. As a result, the system was closely aligned with the daily needs of care.
Thanks to this close collaboration, Wit-Gele Kruis can respond perfectly to the demands and evolution of the care sector, with a focus that will always be on user-friendliness and efficiency.
This is one of the focus points within this project: using its own knowledge to bring innovation to the care landscape.
Tech
Nurs-e is built on a solid technical foundation with modern technologies such as Angular, Capacitor, Electron, Oracle, GitLab and QA Touch. Some key functional pillars are:
- User-friendliness: An intuitive interface simplifies the daily workflow of nurses.
- Automatic Invoicing: Administration is optimised with automatic processes, including error handling and predictive features.
- Integrated Planning Tools: With automatic route planning and visual support, care providers always know the optimal route to follow.
- Mobile & Back-office Applications: Tablets with, among other things, Google Street View integration support nurses in their work, while a web application facilitates tasks such as planning, invoicing and patient management.
Impact = itenium
The result of the Nurs-e project is impressive: a system that supports more than nurses and strengthens the collaboration between the organisations involved.
The entire team, both internal and external staff, made an important contribution with their in-depth knowledge of both technology and the care sector. By supporting the technical implementation, as part of the WGK team, itenium helped ensure that the development of the EPR went smoothly. In particular, the deployment of an experienced team lead, who strengthened the front-end team, resulted in a modernised Angular front-end and an application that is easy to test, maintain and scale. This significantly improved the reliability and security of the system.
Despite the challenges in this large project, the combination of internal expertise and technical support led to a secure, efficient and future-proof solution.
Itenium remains a reliable partner in sourcing technical talent and delivering expertise, so that Wit-Gele Kruis can keep innovating in care technology.
The collaboration with itenium brings clear added value. Their consultants combine technical depth with insight into our daily reality. Partly thanks to their expertise, Nurs-e is growing into a high-performing, user-friendly and future-proof system that our nurses can truly rely on.
