AI Bootcamp

On March 13, we organized a hands-on AI Bootcamp for all IT-consultants at Itenium. Not a traditional training session, but a day where teams got to work themselves building an AI-driven product.

This session was part of our broader AI Track, in which we further explore a variety of AI-related topics.

SkillForge! An internal learning tool for Itenium.
We started with a modern stack (React 19, .NET 10 and Postgres) and a clear ambition: building a fully-fledged L&D platform that makes Excel obsolete.
The scope was ambitious, with over 40+ functional requirements, including:

user management with role-based access
a skill catalogue with levels and prerequisites
personalized learning roadmaps
goal tracking with coach validation

In addition, teams also worked on:

course catalogue and content management
course enrolment, progress tracking and feedback
assessments and quizzes to validate knowledge

From Excel to an L&D platform

SkillForge is being developed as an alternative to existing tooling. Not a theoretical concept, but a concrete application with ambition.

Mixed teams, real collaboration

Functional analysts, developers, and back-office teams worked together. Thanks to vibe coding, everyone could contribute, regardless of technical background.

AI-driven development in practice

Teams experimented with different ways of working. From structured to fully iterative, with AI as a constant factor.

Program

The teams worked in a high-speed setup with complete freedom in their approach. BMAD was introduced as a possible framework, but not mandatory. By combining AI tooling with short iterations, teams quickly moved from ideas to working features, ending the day with a presentation for the jury.
